View Full Version : Popping coming from my speakers
Just noticed this today, I have weird popping coming from my speakers when I play stuff from my ipod on my Pioneer AVIC-F900BT. But strangely it's only from the ipod, i can play dvds and such fine with no popping. Any ideas before I take it out?
You have the AVIC 900BT... bastard.

Try a different iPod and see if the problem persists.

you sir have either a warped and/or bent tooth on your ipod connector or you have an old ipod that has been abused while on the charger or computer.

if you look at your desk top computer , you will see a weird cylinder shaped connector around just about every data, video what-ever cable. from what i have read its a type of "noise" filter. i have a shit load of them from some XM power adapters. it might not be a ferite magnet but its a type of metal. i have noticed that alot of i-pod stuff has noise problem. the Peripheral I-simple for OEM radio has alot too. if you pause the I-pod and turn the volume up you can hear some "data" type noises or some weird clicks. putting ipod cables near high current stuff will cause noise too. just like RCA's for an amp.(you can get away with it on Sub amps be cause of the low-pass filters usuall block it , or its a ground-loop issue not noise.)

wont help. you have a ground problem common with the pioneers. that data noise you hear is from your gain being turned up or running cables by your computer or lines coming to or going from your computer. alot of noise problems can be solved from proper wiring. pm me with a detailed discription of your system and ill help you fix that noise problem :D

chokes are good for emi noise (electro magnetic inducted) i think you have a ground problem. i used to have the same thing on ALL of my pioneers. if he posts up his system layout, i can diagnose it better .
