It should be letting you. Maybe your file sizes are too big. Try resizing them. :thumbup:

You cannot upload this type of file. i did one as a jpeg and the other as a gif file

We allow the following file types..
gif,jpeg,jpg,png,swf,bmp

Apparently what happened was all access to the ftp was shut off (by Admins too! :o ) ... but the problem should be fixed. If you have any more problems, don't hesitate to ask! :)

Inverting it could make it smaller, yes.

Make sure the file is under 200kb in size before uploading. I just don't understand why you're having problems and no one else is. :dunno:

We tend to favor Mihov Image Resizer but it is mainly for our batch processes. I use MGI photosuite most of the time on mine.

You can download small cheap software to resize photos, but you may already have software but not know it. Even PaintBrush can resize by pressing CTRL+E but you need to know your dimensions so not to throw off the image size. <--- That prolly made no sence huh?

Paint Brush can make a photo smaller because it could save it in a different format. PNG GIF and JPG are the most commonly used extensions, BMP is used at times but saves files with a different color depth and are usually larger formats.

For the forum I usually use 700 or 750xwhatever for forum posting. It keeps the window from running off the screen in 1024x768 screen mode. None of the Admin use 800x600.
