It looks sharp. I'm just ready for the modern-retro fad to go out. But it's definitely an improvement over the 05+ models.

only in a straight line. i have some plans though. hopefully by the time summer rolls around we should be fairly evenly matched, if you're still at 380whp that is.

I dont like that version at all. I hated the new body style when it came out but this is just ugly. Have you seen the rear end???

Now I must say the Electronics are pretty nice, Sync, Voice Nav with 10GB, Backup Camera, HID, LED lighting and outside temperature display but I hate cars with non-removable stereos.

I think its time for america to scratch the mustang off the list of modern muscle car, they clearly only build barbie cars now.
I was really holding on hoping it was just a phase since they were the last hope but I think the charger might be a better choice as far as looks. Thats just my opinion though.

Ford does seem a little late to the party these days. I know a lot of the GM guys are laughing that the new Mustangs are finally catching up to the numbers that GM put out 10 years ago. Heck, even the V6 Camaro might be competition for the new GTs. But, it is the sales numbers that count, and Ford's quite ahead on that boat.

if GM goes bankrupt it really isn't going to matter how much hp the camaro makes

not that I am arguing or making fun of ford drivers cause they seem quite safe and HEAVY... Its just when you think of the history of what a teeny bopper mustang muscle car looked like, then you look at these new ones, its just rediculous. The huge rounded hood and the boxy body lines :puke:

I might have to set down and sketch something up and send it into ford so I can feel better. I dont know why I hate them so much, I am not a violent person or someone that typically hates on things but I cant get over the rage I feel when I see these 2005+ mustangs.

If it was called the Geo Street or the Mercury Ibiza I could see that body but not a Ford Mustang. I felt 20% of this anger when the 93+ camaros came out and changed muscle into sporty but they have built on the new style and made it something I wouldnt mind driving where as nothing really happened with mustang, they just all got drunk and released the same thing year after year until now when they have changed their standards of included equipment.

I dont want to sound too upset cause I could really care less, I just have a ton of anger and rage when I see these mustangs for some reason, maybe if I owned one I could get over it.

That could be the case for any of them. It's not just GM that's facing bankruptcy and debt, it's the Big 3. A majority of domestic car makers are facing these problems because they've been focusing on building bigger and heavier cars, which has become the symbol of American life and status. Imports are the ones that are coming into the spotlight now with their success after focusing on fuel efficiency and more affordable cars for the realistic person, not the big dreamer.

I'm not against Ford. They know how to design cars to sell and for the most part last (with the exception of a few here and there). And honestly, I was disappointed when I first heard the announcement of the new Camaro. I didn't want the retro fad to continue and liked the fact that I owned the last model that had been made at the time. But it has since grown on me upon seeing the quality interior and time/money GM has put into designing it. In that same time, I have found myself disappointed in the latest of the Mustang models. When I first saw the unveiling of the 2005 concept, I was all about saving up money toward buying it. But after its release and everyone buying it, I found myself not as impressed with it. I got to test drive a V6 model and the GT. Both were nice, but I felt that the V6 model wasn't as fun as my car. The GT was fun, but it felt heavy and bloated. The only things I really liked about them was the nicer interior and the fact that they were new. Not something I'm going to justify for buying one.

I just feel like Ford is falling even more behind in the game. While their sales are still proving out like they always have, the performance gap between GM and Ford is becoming wider. Of course, this isn't going to matter to the average buyer who just wants a nice looking car that'll get them from Point A to Point B. But it matters to the car enthusiasts who know these cars down to the bolt. Either way, you all know my preference, and I'm going to stick with the GM side on this one. :D

But I will say that my dad's 1980 Bronco has proved itself time and time again. 2xx,xxx miles and going on a rebuild. That's the kind of Ford I'll support.

As far as the 2010 mustang, I'd probably never buy one... but it's a huge improvement over the 2005-2009 models. I still don't like that retro-modern phase and I'll be glad to see the new platform that comes out here in a few years (hopefully). Ford is a bit late in the game... their last really good powerhouse was the '03-'04 cobras. And sure, they'll give some GMs a run for their money. But Ford really hasn't produced a ridiculous powerhouse. A sixxer 'maro with 300 horses is pretty ridiculous. ;]
The best mentality is : If you want a fast Ford you have to build it yourself. The 302 blocks were pretty good starting places... they'll hold up to quite a bit of abuse.

And Zero... there's no point in arguing. Mustang owners will not quit. You should know this. ;]

oh Zerocool, haha I searched the entire thread twice for TrippleZero cause everyone called him zero 2 or 3 years ago. I've always said tripple I think but yeah.

Yeah, I'm not against ford either, I love mustangs but my mind does nothing daily but recognize relationships between items and notice patterns and this kills me at times cause somethings like new 2010 mustangs will really just get me. Its actually more of a disease I think.

I really wish I could explain myself sometimes, but it is impossible for me to even begain to. I really didnt mean to sound so biased in earlier posts, I love all vehicles and makers I just expected more from an american company whos "american pride" is in that car. Do you feel proud to be american when driving it? Does the glowing kickplate remind you of freedom? I might be looking to far into it but the car just doesnt do it for me at all - true not many fit my style in todays market but its still sad I have to turn away from Mustang personally
I know they sell cars but look at the car I mean duh they are going to sell it there are lots of people who dont know what a Pony car is and they dont want to buy a saturn or Hyundai so there you are - Teens, ford realized that americans are getting less mentally advanced in each generation so they are cutting back to meet the demands of the retarded public to focus on profit.

Its sad to think one day a mustang might have 3 wheels and be electric

robert, correct me if I'm wrong but is this then the longest running body style in a Mustang?

BDP
Nov-29th-08, 2:48 pm
like the 2005 - 2009+ body???

I am pretty sure they started the style I love in 1979 - 1993, then went from 1994 - 2004, now 2005 - 2009 so they still have 6 years or so based on history although there would be slight modifications to packages and equipment, the body lasting 10+ years is crazy to me.

edit:
I didnt even realize the 1G was almost 10 years too.

My most favorite is the Four Eyes or maybe an 88GT yum.
