Since there was a complaint about lack of thread here i decided to post this crap up. Maybe i'll get to work on it some this weekend :D

Finally pulled the motor and tranny 2 weeks ago. Ended up crushing my finger w/ the driveshaft...which sucked. Bought some sheet metal and have been practicing welding for when i repair the rust.

The welder im using is old as hell and you can't adjust the voltage...just the wire speed. Getting better...slowly...lol

Got my seats in and my suspension is at the platers...but hopefully will be here soon :D

The most important thing is that i got a bunch of stuff done around the house...so i can work on the car now :D

I did pull the windsheild last night. Cut my thumb really good...but i think i cut it on the tool...not the glass :huh: . Planning on working on the rust this weekend....but have some more stuff to do around the house...so we will see

I normally just drift on there. But most of the time when i race people are cool...the last time people were running me off the road and shit. :angry:

Worked on it before the last 2 times and i didn't get hurt....we will see if i hurt myself this weekend :P

Yeah it's pretty nice. I tried to get the whole thing off before i took out the core support...but couldn't. Turned out i missed a couple bolts....lol

Got the welder working again. Probbaly wont' get a chance to work on it until next weekend...but plan on boxing in the v8 crossmember. Also buying an 8.8 rear end from a friend next time im in Tulsa.

i ended up sending the strut back...didn't realize the price was just for the strut housing. So i'm getting the short struts with the double adjustable koni struts.....and some stiffer springs fro the font. The suspension is adjustable.....but it can go pretty damn low

Got a chance to work on it this weekend....but the wifey is being induced tomorrow....so we will have our first kid! Which means fewer updates :P

I worked on the headers for a while....if you use the lt1 manifolds on sbc heads you need to move atleast one stud hole. Then the flange wouldn't even come close to steering column/shaft. I messed for it for a few hours...but still no luck.

So i continued to work on my rust repair and made some progress.

well i've been patching rust for a while. Thought i was done but i pulled the carpet and have some issue on the floor board. I opened up the 8.8 rear end and found out it has the stock lsd...so i'll be using that until it blows up.

I also put bolted the bellhousing & tranny to the motor to mock everything up. The shifter is going to be a problem. The hurst shifter might work but I'm going to loose the bottom portion of my console and have to do some cutting at least.

Welded the crossmember in. The crossmember wasn't long enough so i added some plates. Still suck at welding but it's in there pretty good.

it's not really anything special...i just go out there and try it. I get better at it as i go...the first couple plate i make took me 8 hours to make. Just go out and try it...thats the only way you'll learn.

i learned how to weld half way decent in high school with the mig machine and the arc welder so i am sure if i had some time to practice it would come back.

got the frame rails rethreaded for the tranny crossmember. The diesel crossmember is stronger because it allows you to use one more bolt. So i welded some metal to it and drilled a hole.

small updates. Took out the dash...getting the car ready fro a cage in the next 2 weeks or so.

I had some trouble figuring out what shifter i had.....thing it may be an original. So i bought a new shifter and installation kit. Still need to install the arms.

the muncie is a h pattern trans. they are old trannies, like from camaros and chevelles and i think about any GM muscle car produced in the late 60s to mid 70s?? i could be wrong about that part.

It actually has the same shift pattern as the volvo m46 transmission...just no electronic overdrive.

Got the arms bolted up. Bolted it to the motor and put it in the car. I'm going to have to modify the transmission crossmember. The transmission mount hits a lot shorter then i thought it would. Might also pout some spacers in there as well. Thats how the motor looks like permanently mounted. I threw on a carb and filter to see if it would clear the hood...looks like it will :D

finished modifying my transmission crossmember. Everything seems to fit...just need to "massage" my transmission tunnel to push the transmission up higher.

Thanks man! i turned down the wire speed and it make a world of difference. I would like to make it to one of their events this year....i'll be attending a lot of fabricated motorsports events...they are a little bit closer to me and have an event every month.

Not too much progress really...haven't been able to work on it much. Got the 8.8 shortened and installed. The wheels i'm going to use seem to clear w/o having to mess with the fenders on the rear...not sure about the front yet..

Started notching the frame and dropping the radiator crossmember to make room for the radiator....thinking i'm going to made a custom crossmember to allow more clearance....here is a half ass mockup

Having issue on the brake lines...going to have some custom made for the rear. Need to order brake pads then put the adapters on the front and see how those wheels fit

Got the radiator in. Had to notch the frame about 1.5" on each side....the radiator sits about 3" below the frame. Build a new crossmember to help clearance. Still need to box in the supports but it's in and everything clears.

Fuel cell is in. Planning on incasing by building a box to surround the bottom of the fuel cell and using sheet metal (with a door so i can fill up the fuel cell) on top. Safety first kids :P

Also rolled the rear fenders so the wheels will tuck without any issues.
