pro-form with the dial, black or silver for your car, the blue on those look gay

I don't think you need one. Get some performance stuff. The shift light is going to make you go any faster

screw that, i've got too much to worry about, a shift light would be nice so i can stay focused, thats my problem, i mess up when i dont focus, when i raced joe's XR i did awesome as far as driving goes but i was totally focused, but i just luckily would look down when it was time for me to shift, i dont want to look down at the tach, shift-reaction times are faster with a light, learn from the pros bro

i put one in just cause after 6k rpm's all you hear is the supercharger whine and it all sounds the same from 6k to 8200 where i shift at and i hate have to look down and back upi over and over to make sure i know when to shift. i agree on most cars its pretty easy to do by just listening to the car but for some thats not an option so for some its worth the money. i have the autometer pro-shift light which is great has helped me alot. it has pills and the only prob i got is that its not perfectly accurate right now and had about a 200rpm difference, so i am not going to get the rpm actuactor that more precisely reads the rpms and make the shift light more acturate.

practice shifting by ear. turn off your dash lights at night and launch! you should know about what rpm you are at by the tone of your motor. be 1 with the car. and stay in the peak torque range of your motor. dont let a light tell you what to do...its 1 more thing to think about...focus more on hitting that next gear. my .02

I disagree with just about everyone in this thread. IMHO a shiftlight is a waste of money unless you have extremely high gears.

Don't shift by RPM, don't shift by Ear. You should be shifting by feel. Ever cars power drops somewhere, you just have to get that feel and shift fast at that point ...
