I'm new here :). I'm from England, but live in the Netherlands. We have the following cars: Alfa Romeo 156 GTA, Alfa Romeo 147 GTA and a Alfa Romeo 33. Not alloud to drive yet because of the stupid rules over here (have to be 18 to drive, but I'm 16).

Ahh well, I still love my cars :)

I'm just hoping to get my own car soon to work on, so it will be perfect when I start driving. Might get myself a Alfa 147, 156 or a Lancia Delta Evo. Think I will go for the Lancia :)

turboXR
Jun-3rd-04, 10:17 am
Yes!! please get a Delta Evo mmmmmm I'm like so envious, I'm drooling. Oh if we just got cars like that!!! Get the Delta and post pics ASAP, or find a Sierra Cosworth (my fav)

Sam Granger
Jun-3rd-04, 10:21 am
the reason why I want the delta is because a friend of mine had one. Crazy! Well,t he car is crazy and he was crazy. I have some good memories from that Delta! Great handeling!

Jun-3rd-04, 10:27 am
Well ya, that's cuz you live in Europe and everything is better there when it comes to cars...well not everything, but most things...Never even seen a Delta in real life..what I would give to......

I say go with a Cosworth Sierra...They'd be cheaper or comparable with the Delta and they are just so amazingly cool looking...take a look at my car...It's got the Sierra RS500 grill and bumper on it. Go to the automotive media section of this site and go to the New pics of Ellie thread and the, Ellie's new shoes thread. cheers

It does have allot of potential! And that it doesn't go fats is good. If it would go any fatser I would go that speed and end up killing myself :)

I love speed a bit too much if you get what I mean! :shiftingfun:

it goes 220 km/h, and new mercedes are limited to 250km/h so its not that bad

turboXR
Jun-3rd-04, 1:25 pm
Oh ya, Deltas have soooo much potential. They dominated Group B rallying before other entries such as the 037 and RS200 came along and they built an S4 version for Group S unlimited that was probably the only production car that successfully pulled off compound turbocharging (better known as twincharging). That's right, mid engine 2 ltr. dohc 16 valve turbocharged supercharged twin intercooled awd hatchback....helllllll yes!!!

0-100Km/h acceleration: 5.7S

Think 100km/h is about 60 mph. Not sure though.

i am sorry but that car is f'n hideous (sorry not a fan of the XRs either) i am all about performance but MAN those cars are just wicked ugly. i am not much of the rallying type so maybe that is why i don't appreciate them as much as you guys. as for DOHC AWD Inline 4 Turbo cars, lets go with the Isuzu Impulse. much better looking, 2600 lbs, 1.8 liter, 160 hp. they are very hard to find and very very very good looking.

European cars are the way to go Sam! :2thumbsup:

Of course, I can appreciate ANY type of car. American, Japanese, European.. Whatever. Speed is Speed. I respect it, regardless.

Thanks psuedo, but have you ever SEEN my car in real life? No. Impulses are Rally bred machines dude. Impulse RS R: Rally S: Sport. I can't believe that you would trash someone elses tastes. I pitty you. As for your beloved Impulse: I've got news for you: it ain't actually a basket of fruit.

turboXR
Jun-5th-04, 12:17 am
Oh and as for hard to find??? Let's see you find a Lancia Delta Evoluzione (yes that's spelled right). Sorry dude, but A Delta would wipe the floor with any Impulse.

Let's not turn this into a pissing contest guys. Let's keep it cool, especially for our European buddy. We don't want him getting the wrong idea about Americans. :2thumbsup:

I apologize Kris, I got a little too heated. It's just I hate it when people don't give a car a chance and just go right back to the only one they know about (which I have been guilty of myself as we all have). My apologies.

heh.

welcome duder.

as for Impulses: 160 sent to 4 wheels seems pretty sad. 160hp could be made without the aide of a turbo as well.

as for Joe's car: i do not think it's ugly, especially with the Cosworth grill and bumper(those should have been there stock.) in my opinion, it's just a different car that no one is used to.

if you want to talk about ugly cars, lets talk about Pontiac Azteks....

Mr. Merk
Jun-5th-04, 10:46 am
you'll have to excuse joe, he's a little biased, as all merk owners are, its weird, its like one of those children only a mother could love, know what i mean?

my bad joe didn't realize i couldn't post opinion, next time, i will be sure to make unbiased opinions about everything. from now on, all my post we be "that car is alright" or "that car is ok". hi sam, welcome to the board!! i hope you enjoy your posting here at NWAi. and i am sorry for not liking the looks of that car, however the performance and handling of that machine must be great for it do so well in rally series. i give it a thumbsup for performance.

Nah dude, post away your opinion, I just need to keep my temper in check. Your opinion is just as important as everyone elses. Sorry to bring down your opinion. BTW, I absolutely LOVE the Impulse RS, I really do, I wanted one for a long time. There was one that this old lady was drving around Faytown, I was like, "They only made like 900 of those and that one isn't being used correctly." Impulses do rock, but, like the XR and the Delta, and a whole host of other cars, they look kinda quirky, but that's why I like em: cuz they aren't just another Honda (no disrespect to Hondas, I love them too). They are different, and anything that's different and ignores convention is OK in my book  (BTW, thanks for editing your post )

Dude, seriously, I am the same way. Most people hate Probes, thats fine. I should just say, "That's cool, we all have our preferances".. But no, I usually get a little heated about it.

After a while, especially after being an admin of the board, I don't really care any more. You just become impartial to everything after a while and after meeting some of the people from the board you learn that tuners come from every aspect of the spectrum.. They all are different in their own "special ways" and they all have a different perspective on what looks good-- as well as what doesn't.. Which, that is what helped me become a little more accepting of others' opinions. :2thumbsup:
