I know 10+ people atm that have said they will go and it was quite a bit of fun last time i went. I paid $15 and made about 10 passes by choice. It would be fun to have more ppl from nwa up there.

btw: the Purple Pony is running EXTREMELY well, jason and anthony did a little tuneup and tuning, and holy crap :o he can drive it pretty good too, he had 2 perfect take-offs and he shifted perfect too :thumbup:

Gayle's nephew, Dakota, has been head-over-heels-in-love with imports since he started hanging around me...he's 7 yrs old and when we asked his mom if he could go to the Import Shoot-Out June 5th (he went last year to the last one), she said yes, as long as he was feeling better, because he was sick (this is all on Monday/Memorial Day).
Well, anyway, he goes to the doctor on Tues., because he's doing worse. They tell him he has strep throat and that he has 2 choices : either 10 days worth of pills or a shot in the arse.
Now, mind you, the little guy is 7 yrs old. He starts counting the days and realizes that the Import Shootout is in 4 days. Fearing that his mom won't let him go if he is still on medication, he actually, straight-faced, told the doc that he'd take the shot because he had to go to MoKan. :no: This is straight out of his mother's mouth!!!
THE WEATHER HAS GOT TO BE GOOD...I'm sure he won't mind waiting if it's postponed, but c'moooooooon!!!

The Import Shootout is also where we are taking the group photo.. Which is why we all need to line up at 12, leave at 1 and be there by 3.. So we can take the photo. :thumbup:

Sorry I have not been in the loop enough, guys...

IF THE IMPORT SHOOTOUT GETS POSTPONED DUE TO RAIN, SO TOO WILL BE THE PICTURE.

The Import Shootout is the best opportunity to get the photo due to landscape, background, photographer perch, and the amount of cars (hopefully enough NWAimport.com-ers) to make the picture good.
Again, if the shootout is moved to a different date, so will the picture, to that date. Same set up as far as leaving.

As far as getting there early, that is the point, so we can get there and have a little time to get the photo done before the place fills up and chaos ensues.

well found out that tires are not coming in till monday along with the plugs and b/c of waiting on tires my oil didn't get changed so sorry to say it but i kinda wish that it gets postponed but if not i will go anyways and just not run which sucks, or i might just put the tires from back on the front so at least i can run a little either way if it is still happening and not postponed then i will be there i am not going to miss this thing i only get to go out and have fun only so many times a year and by god i am not going to miss this

you arent going to run cuz your drive tires are bald? man new tires arent going to grip at all on the track, you're better off with the baldies on the track IMO, before i had LSD i went to the track with like 98% bald tires and hooked very well, then i went back with bald tires again (this time on 16's) and with LSD and holy crap! :laugh:

either way i am going, if they don't hook up then i might just jack up the car and put the rear tired on and see what they do either way yesterday was just shity i didn't get my tires and just to let you gets know they were more or less drag radials thats why i wanted them in, my plugs didn't come in, didn't get to get my oil changed cause i was waiting on the damn tires, and yesterday evening i had to put one of my dogs to sleep, besides all that i got like two hours of sleep and had to work last night so i am now going to sleep for a couple hours then go get the oil changed and wash and wax my car and get it looking good for today now if the rain doesn't come it will be an all out good day.

I dont think i have ever been so frustrated in my life. I apologize to everyone for not giving them my full attention. I did some simple yet expensive (for me) upgrades, overnighted parts, paid a mechanic from Mo. to come down, dyno time and come day to race it runs like ass. I was running almost a full second slower than what i did before the upgrades including drag tires and NOS. It wasnt anyones fault cause while on the dyno it did ok, not perfect air/fuel but not bad in either direction. While at the track it just didnt have any power, another Srt4 up there was having the same problems and one of the same mods was a complete fuel return system with pump. I asked people if i was smoking any and they said no so i turned up the pressure from 45 to 80 lbs, no difference so i turned it back. Well i used some common sense finally on what that setup can do so i go down the road today and floor it, smoke comes out. I turn it down 10 lbs and floor it in 2nd at 40mph and almost cross into oncoming traffic. Problem fixed. Im not mad at anyone, that isnt the purpose of this thread, i could barely see the smoke myself and that doesnt mean it was smoking last night, just wanted to point out how "funny" things work sometimes. Im disappointed more so because i wanted to show our presence up their with a little competition and i let everyone down. I ran a 13.1 with street tires last time and i shouldve gained 2-4 tenths with the tires and trackbite i was using, realistically a tenth or two with the other mods but with the NOS-dam, who knows. I only had 50 shot pills on me but i gained 1.6 seconds with a 75 shot on the Park Avenue. I still wouldnt have won but 2nd wouldve been a nice little war since he was doing 12.3's. Okay i feel better, thanks for letting me bitch.

Everyone around here knows exactly what your car can do, and at the end of the day you still have everyones respect. Brush your shoulders off and get ready for the next event bro. I have been psyched out the past month for yesterday, only to get my hopes up on my car being done. I was insured that it would be finished, dyno tuned, and ready to run, none of which happened. I had no phone calls answered, no U2U's answered, not even a reach around. I am VERY discouraged right now as well, but shit happens.

I wanted to come, I was anxious to see if I could break 13's. I'm fairly sure I could do it with a good clutch and hard launch, but I wanted to see if I could or how close I could get without launching it (like I normally race). Maybe next time I guess. You need to get me some of that footage so I can put it in the movie. I'm leaving to head to Fayetteville right now, if anyone is interested in filming a little meet me at Circuit City at 5:00.

13's? I thought all you had was intake, exhaust and nitrous?

James is running 13's and he dynoed wayyy over 400hp. :ohyeah:

it takes alot less than 400 hp to run 13's, even in a fwd car. Now, jason is in an awd car so it takes even less hp to run 13's. With 400hp james should be in the low 12's.

I was pretty excited to get the mustang out to an actual 1/4 mile instead of the 1/8 at centerville. Altho not too sure about the trip up there because of a bad passenger tire, I went anyway and got about 2 minutes from the track when the drivers side tire blew.

So nonetheless, I spent 2 hours on a factory donut that had something close to 7 lbs of air in it, driving around and getting tires mounted.


I was hoping I could hit a 14.9 or so since I DID NOT want to see 15s, but it seemed pretty consistant around 14.7x so I am happy with it since it is all stock.
I missed 3rd a few times as usual like at centerville but given the fact that 1st gear syncros are fucked I am really supprised how well it ran and didnt even pop out of 1st on any of my runs.


Others might have expected more or something from my stang, but I just took it to see exactly what it would do before I begin playing with it. I am not hoping for 12 sec or anything, but 14 flat or 13s would be nice!

Congrats on all who went and had fun and sorry for all those vehicle failures others experienced. I saw lots of newbies out running test and tune learning the track, I hope you guys learn a lot and come more often (meaning to keep the testing off the streets).

Take this next paragraph with a grain of salt. I know full well that what I'm about to say is not proof or solid evidence of anything, and is, at best, just "educated guessing". This stuff is never 100% accurate, but it can give you a good idea at least.

The reason I say 13's, is a stock WRX sedan is capable of a 14.1 in most conditions with a good driver. Not all drivers are that skilled, but it's proof that it has the power at least to run it. I can pull hard on a stock WRX :evil: Last WRX I raced at Centerville had an exhaust and I don't know what else (maybe nothing), he pulled a 1.9 60' and I had a 2.3 cuz like I said, I never launch hard. His ET was only 1/100 faster than me (really, it was that close), so I had reeled in those 4 tenths he had on me off the line just over the 1000ft. I would have pwnzrd him through the 1/4. They say every tenth off your 60' will take 2 tenths off your ET, and that seems pretty consistant when I compare my timeslips. So me powering down his .4 60' lead is like pulling 8 tenths if we had equal launches. I also trapped several MPH faster than him on that run. All this shows I was putting way more power down than his modded WRX was. Not peak power, but "area under the curve". No turbo lag + another 1/2 liter displacement to thank for that. Considering a stock WRX has enough power to run 14.1, I'm definately getting more power down than a stock WRX is, and all other factors (gearing, traction, etc.) are equal, well, you can see where this is leading... high 13's. The only other factor that's not equal is weight, the stock TS is ~ 100 pounds lighter than the stock WRX sedan I'm comparing too, plus I've removed another ~ 50 pounds on top of that.

Which is why I need to get on a 1/4 track, to settle it with numbers instead of saying "well this and that blah blah". I don't like to bench race, but it's all I have to work with right now.

High 13's in an RS Impreza is easy, it's been proven time and again. Moving on to low 13's and beyond is the real stepping stone...

Im hoping my car will be rdy for the next event. I managed a stock time with about 4-5 less pounds of boost then the stock rx7 is supposed to run. 2.1 60' time is decent on with the tires inflated to 33psi.

If any1 in this area want to have a dyno day late june early july let me know through pms. I think my car will be rdy by then. PM me dont hijack the thread

That's a nice car you have 2quick4u. I'd like to see it run fast someday. I tried to talk my wife into getting one but she can't see past the fact that it's a Neon. Oh well, I guess we have plenty of nice cars and another one for me to modify will just be too much money.
I wish we could've made it to the track, but my wife is due any day now for our next baby to arrive, so it wouldn't have been a good idea to even go alone.
