Just because it has alot of miles done not mean its ratty. Any used car will have its problems.

It can be done for 7-8k with more miles and an older MY (00-02) car. The trick is finding one that has been taken care of.

Its just a chip away though. All that power is in the software. VW didn't want it to compete with the more expensive V6.

ATW and AEB has better bottom end than do the later model cars and the AEB has the best head of the entire group (not to mention having less emissions BS) Only draw back to and AEB is a theoretical 16.32 m/sec injector on time (pulse cycles)

I feel ya... I'm about to have a heart attack over here. I see mk4's daily and I've been pricing a few. I'm crazy enough to drive halfway across the US to get a damn good deal.

Having big wheels will only accentuate the "on stilts" look of non sport pkg A4s. Drop it on it's nuts and space your wheels out to the corners and paint em black...call it a day.

That has been my original plan for some time now, I'm just distracted by the shiny stuff from time to time. By the way, my A4 actually does have the sport package, but for 1997 the sport package did not lower the car like newer models, unfortunately.

Yeah I never cheap out on the things that actually matter. If I do suspension it will be Stasis Streetsport coilover system.
